Gator Basketball Radio Network
The 2011-12 Gator Basketball Sports Network is the largest college basketball sports network in the Sunshine State, with almost 35 stations from the Panhandle to the Florida Keys broadcasting the complete University of Florida basketball schedule.
Gator basketball broadcasts blanket the state, with many of the same stations also carrying Gator Hotline with Billy Donovan once a month in January, February and March during the basketball season - the most extensive network sports coverage offered in Florida.
Sun Sports and IMG College, with offices in Orlando and Gainesville, are the rights-holders of the Gator IMG Sports Network.
All Gator IMG Sports Network basketball broadcasts can be heard live via GatorVision, the official video and audio streaming site of the Florida Gators.
Game Day Broadcast
Game day coverage on the Gator Basketball Sports Network begins with the 35-minute Gator Tip-Off Show and concludes with the Gator Locker Room Show. Both feature comments from Head Coach Billy Donovan.
Mick Hubert provides play-by-play and also hosts Gator Hotline with Billy Donovan. Mark Wise provides the analysis for the 14th straight season, with former Gator player Craig Brown filling in on select broadcasts. FNN Sports Director Tom Morgan assists with pre-game, halftime, and post-game shows. Steve Woodard produces on site and assists with the pre-game and halftime shows.
The Broadcast Team
Mick Hubert and “Oh My!” have become synonymous with Gator Radio Broadcasts for over 20 years. Gator fans have grown attached to Mick’s energetic and colorful style as the “Voice of the Gators.” The St. Anne, Illinois, native graduated from Illinois State University in 1976 and has also served as play-by-play broadcaster for Bradley University and the University of Dayton.
Hubert joined the University Athletic Association and the Gator Radio Network in 1989. He hosts the call-in show Gator Hotline, the daily Gator Football Report and the weekly coaches television shows, Florida Football with Urban Meyer and Florida Basketball with
Mark Wise is in his 14th year providing color commentary for the Gator Basketball Network alongside Mick Hubert, and his 15th year overall as a broadcaster. He brings a total of 13 years collegiate coaching experience to the network. Eight of those years were spent with Head Coach Lee Rose, at North Carolina-Charlotte, Purdue and the University of South Florida. Mark also was the Head Coach and Athletic Director for three years at Lindsey Wilson College in Kentucky. Mark is married to Gator Volleyball Head Coach Mary Wise, and they have two children, Matt and Mitchell.
Gator great Craig Brown returns for his second season providing color commentary for the Gator Basketball Network. Brown, originally from Steelton, PA, graduated from the University of Florida 1995 with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. He was a member of Florida basketball team from 1990-94, serving as team captain on the 1994 team that advanced to the school’s first-ever Final Four. Brown finished his career at UF as the all-time leader in 3-point field goals made (186), finished 14th in school history in points (1,419), 5th in assists (305) and 3rd in steals (158). He served as the Video Coordinator/Administrative Assistant for UF basketball during the 1995-96 season under Head Coach Lon Kruger, and also played professionally overseas in Brazil, China, Hong Kong and France. Recently he served for 10 years as an Assistant Coach at UCF.
Tom Morgan, Sports Director at the Florida News Network (FNN), hosts the Sun Sports College Basketball Report while the game broadcasts are produced on site by Steve Woodard and in the studio by Stephen Hartzell.
Gator Hotline with Billy Donovan
Gator Hotline with Billy Donovan is a popular state-wide call-in show that airs live from 7:00 to 8:00 PM (ET) once a month in January, February and March during the basketball season.
